Frequently Asked Questions

Will my visit be covered by insurance?
Pinova Dental & Braces accepts most insurance, including Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP), and United Concordia's Tricare, as well as many private insurance plans, such as Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian, and United Healthcare. If you don’t know if your insurance will cover your visit, or if you’re uninsured, contact our office staff for a consultation.
Do you take Medicaid?
Yes, we are proud to accept Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP), and United Concordia's Tricare.
What do I need to bring for my visit?
The most important things to bring are a current insurance card and a photo ID. You may also want to come prepared with information such as the phone number and birth date of the patient being seen or their guardian.
My child is afraid of the dentist. What should I do?
It’s important to talk to your child and help them understand that the dentist is there to help them, and that they don’t need to be afraid. Aside from ample communication, we’ve found that some helpful strategies include:

Using Imagination
Practice for your child’s visit by playing dentist at home. Have your child practice sitting back in a chair and opening their mouth. Explain some of the things that the dentist will do and look for.

Being Positive
Set a good example for your child by exercising positivity when you talk about the dentist. If you are nervous, your child may become nervous too, so be aware of the example you set.

Bring A Favorite Toy
Many children benefit from bringing a favorite small toy, such as a stuffed animal or blanket, along to hold before and during their visit.

Telling Stories
Find books and videos for children about visiting the dentist. Read or watch them with your child to help them understand and prepare for their visit.
What should I expect during my child’s visit?
Our caring staff is specially trained to work with children. From the moment they sit in the treatment chair, our staff will communicate with them and you to help you understand each procedure. The dentist will demonstrate the procedure before beginning, offering you and your child opportunities to ask questions. At the end of the appointment, the dentist will help you understand the next steps for care.
What will my visit cost?
The cost of each visit depends on the services you receive as well as your insurance coverage. Contact our office staff for a more detailed quote.
Will I be allowed to stay with my child during their visit?
We generally encourage parents or guardians to stay in the treatment room during their child’s visit, although sometimes it may be a distraction for children. Our staff will help you determine the best course of action.
Are you accepting new clients?
: Yes! Call our office to schedule a consultation or appointment.
